Banana Split Pie
Banana desserts lovers will love the banana split pie as you get the best of banana split flavour all in a pie! As this is a diabetic dessert recipes, the bananas and pineapples provide a natural sweetness with no sugar added to the ingredients. One problem you may face when preparing banana desserts is that the bananas tend to turn brown rather easily. To prevent this from happening, sprinkle some lemon or lime juice over the bananas so that you will more time to prepare your dessert.
Ingredients1 packet Sugar-free Instant Vanilla Pudding Mix
2 cups Skimmed Milk
3 Bananas; ripe and sliced
1 can Crushed Pineapple; drained of juice
1 cup Whipping Cream; low fat
1 tsp Vanilla Essence
1/2 cup Almond Flakes
Ingredients for Graham Cracker Crust
1 1/3 cups Graham Cracker; crushed into crumbs
1/2 cup Unsalted Low Fat Butter; softened
Method
To prepare crust, mix cracker crumbs with butter until even. Combine crumbs with diet margarine by cutting in softened margarine until mixture turns to coarse crumbs. Spread evenly and press firmly onto bottom of pie pan. Bake at 180°C for 10 minutes. To prepare banana split filling, mix pudding with milk. Beat until thick in consistency before pouring into pie crust. Sprinkle crushed pineapple onto sliced bananas. Pipe whipping cream onto pudding. Garnish with almond flakes. Chill well before serving.
