Chocolate Delight Dessert

Black Forest Cake



Black Forest Cake the favourite chocolate delight dessert which promises melt in your mouth moments.

This creamy cake is enjoyed with sweet cherry filling, so if you want great dessert recipes or baking recipes for cherry desserts, this is the one that will definitely satisfy.

Ingredients
1 cup			        	Self-raising Flour
3 tbsp			 	Cocoa Powder (A)
2 tsps				Baking Powder
1 1/4 cups		        	Castor Sugar
1/3 cup				Fresh Milk
1/4 tsp			       	Salt
1/3 cup				Melted Butter
1 1/2 tsp				Vanilla Essence
1/2 cup				Brown Sugar
1/4 cup				Cocoa Powder (B)
1 1/4 cups		        	Hot Water
1/4 cup				Kirsch or Rum
1/2 tsp 				Almond Essence
1 Can 				Cherry Pie Filling

Method

Combine 3/4 cup castor sugar, flour, cocoa powder (A), baking powder and salt. Blend in milk, melted butter and vanilla essence and beat until smooth. Spread into greased square pan.

In another bowl, combine remaining castor sugar, brown sugar and cocoa powder (B) and sprinkle this batter evenly over the first batter.

Mix kirsch or rum with hot water and drizzle gently over batter. Do not stir.

Bake at 180°C for 40 to 50 minutes, or until center is almost set. Leave to cool awhile before serving. This pudding is best eaten with chilled cherry pie filling as sauce.

- to prevent sinking to bottom
