Tasty Diabetic Dessert Recipes - Homemade Diabetic Orange Spongecake
The Diabetic Orange Spongecake is good to enjoy especially during afternoon tea. This low sugar dessert is light in texture and puts away the guilt while it satisfies you tastebuds. A spongecake recipe generally requires less butter and as such is also low in fat.
Low Sugar Orange Sponge Cake Ingredients 7 Large Eggs; yolks and whites separated
1/2 cup Orange Juice Concentrate
1/2 tsp Orange Essence
2 tbsp Lemon Juice
3 tbsp Sugar Substitute
3/4 tsp Cream of Tartar
1 1/2 cups Cake Flour; sifted twice
1/4 tsp Salt
1 cup Unsweetened Whipping Cream
Method
Whisk egg whites with cream of tartar and salt until stiff peaks form. Meanwhile. mix well the remaining ingredients. Fold in egg white mixture gently. Bake ingreased baking bundt pan at 180°C for 40 to 50 minutes or until skewer comes out clean when inserted. Decorate sponge cake with piped whipping cream.
