Favourite Sugar Free Key Lime Pie
One of the all-time favourites of sugar free dessert recipes is the famous key lime pie. This is a very refreshing dessert to enjoy after a meal. The citrus aroma perks you up and the taste is tangy yet sweet and you will want to go for second helpings. This is a fuss-free no bake recipe and you will have your pie ready in time for dinner!
Sugar Free Key-Lime Pie Ingredients 1 Ready Made 8-inch Pie Crust
350 g Skimmed Evaporated Milk; chilled
1 tsp Vanilla Essence
2 packets Gelatine Powder; unflavoured
1/3 cup Lime Juice; freshly strained
1 cup Hot Water
18 sachets Sugar Substitute
2 tbsp Lime Zest; grated
1/4 Apple Green Food Colouring
Method
Stir in vanilla essence into chilled milk. Freeze milk. Mix gelatine powder with lime juice. Leave awhile before adding hot water and sugar substitute. Blend well and chill for an hour. Meanwhile, whip frozen milk until stiff and fold in lime zest and colouring. Add gelatine mixture gently into milk mixture. Spoon onto ready pie crust. Decorate with lime zest.
