Homemade Low Sugar Apple Pie
Low Sugar Apple PieIngredients Whole Wheat Pie Pastry to make 2 X 8-inch crusts
(for bottom and top)
6 cups Sliced Apples; any tart variety
1 tsp Ground Cinnamon
350 g Apple Juice; unsweetened
2 tbsp Cornflour
Method
Preheat oven to 210°C. Line baking pan with pie pastry. Spread apple slices evenly onto base pastry. Cook apple juice with cornflour and ground cinnamon over very low heat until juice is clear. This means the cornflour has dissolved. Pour cooked apple juice gently over sliced apples. Cover well with the top pie crust. Bake for about an hour. Best to serve hot.
