Diabetic Desserts - Sugar Free Maple Almond Cookies
Try this Maple Almond Cookies in our diabetic dessert recipes on cookies. They are sugar free cookies and very easy and quick to make. Almond cookies are aromatically nutty in taste and you can always add as much almonds as desired in your almond cookie recipe.This recipe is also an excellent choice for Christmas cookies or any other holiday cookies. If you wish, you can always replace almond with walnut or even pecan and the end result will be just as pleasing.
Maple Almond Cookie Ingredients 1/4 cup Brown Sugar Substitute
2 tbsp Diabetic Maple Syrup
2 tsp Corn Oil
2 tsp Water
2/3 cup Almonds; toasted and coarsely chopped
250 g Sugar Free Cookies; chilled
Method
Cook brown sugar together with maple syrup, corn oil and water until sugar is completely dissolved. Stir in chopped almonds. Break sugar free cookies into halves and dip each into maple mixture. Place each dipped cookie on baking pan. Pour remaining syrup mixture over cookies. Bake at 190°C for 5 minutes. Remove and cover with waxed paper. Allow the cookies to cool before serving.
