Easy Desserts - Quick Chocolate Cake

Quick Chocolate Cake

Ingredients

2 cups				Self-raising Flour; sifted
1 tsp			        	Baking Powder
5 tbsp				Cocoa Powder; sifted
1 1/2 cups				Castor Sugar
1			        	Pinch of Salt
1 cup			        	Cold Water
1/2 cup				Margarine
1/2 cup				Butter; at room temperature
1/2 cup				Fresh Milk
2 			        	Medium Eggs; lightly beaten

Method

Sift flour together with baking powder. Mix well together with cocoa powder, sugar and salt in a mixing bowl.

Separately, mix butter, margarine and water in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Turn off heat and pour gently into flour mixture. Beat until creamy and smooth. Add fresh milk and beaten eggs. Beat well.

Pour into greased baking pan and bake at 180°C until done. You may decorate chocolate cake with your favourite chocolate frosting while cake is still slightly warm.
