Christmas Dessert Recipes

Charming Snow Drops

Bake easy Christmas desserts this Christmas - Snow Drops that are wonderfully filled with white and chocolate chips and tasty walnut meats. As the name suggests, these cookies are white-coloured as they are coated with icing sugar and make perfect Christmas dessert recipes. Hence, they'll look amazing if you store them in cookie jars prettily decorated with red and green ribbons.

You can always be adventurous with such simple cookie recipes and add other nuts of your choice or you may coat cookies with dessicated coconut instead of icing sugar.

Ingredients

3/4 cup Butter; at room temperature
2 cups Plain Flour
1/2 tsp Salt
1/2 cup Castor Sugar
1 tsp Vanilla Essence
1 Large Egg
200 g Chocolate Chips; mixed white and chocolate
1 cup Walnuts; coarsely chopped
1 cup Icing sugar

Method

Mix flour with salt and set aside first.

Cream butter with sugar until light and fluffy. Add in essence. Beat in egg. Remove mixer and add in flour with a wooden spoon. Stir in chocolate chips and walnuts.

Using a metal spoon, shape mixture into small balls and transfer them onto ungreased cookie sheet. Allow enough space between each cookie as they will expand when baked.

Bake in preheated oven at 170°C for 20 minutes or until cookies turn golden. Leave to cool awhile before rolling them in icing sugar.

Chill well in fridge.
