Spiced Cheesecake Recipe



Go for savoury cream cheese desserts with this Spiced Cheesecake recipe - a baked cheesecake recipe that calls for three variants of cheese combined with ham, sweet onions and hot jalapeno.

So if you want something different from the usual plain cheesecake recipes, do give this hot recipe a shot!


Ingredients

1/4 cup 		         	Toasted Breadcrumbs
1/4 cup 		        	Cheddar Cheese; finely grated
170 g	      	                	Ham; thinly sliced and diced
700 g        	                	Cream Cheese; at room temperature
1 1/4 cups	                	Cottage Cheese
300 g		                	Sharp Cheddar; grated
3 tbsp 		        	Jalapeno Pepper
3/4 cup 	        		Onions; finely chopped
4 	                		Large Eggs
3 tbsp 		        	Fresh Milk
1 	                   		Garlic Clove; halved

Method

Clean pepper and remove the seeds. Chopped pepper into fine bits.

Mix toasted breadcrumbs with 1/4 cup of grated cheddar. Sprinkle this mixture into pan, on the base and sides to coat. Chill first.

Beat cream cheese with cottage cheese till creamy and add in half of diced ham, grated sharp cheddar, jalapeno pepper bits and chopped onions. Lastly, beat in eggs one at a time, beating well with each addition. Add in fresh milk.

Pour half of cheese mixture onto greased 9 inch springform pan. Layer with remaining ham dices. Cover over ham layer with remaining half of cheese mixture.

Bake in preheated oven at 170°C for 1 hour or until cheesecake turns golden brown. Turn off heat but do not remove cake as yet. Leave cake in oven with door open for another 30 minutes. Allow cake to cool before cutting to serve.
