Tasty Spicy Apple Biscuits






Spicy Apple Biscuits

Ingredients

150 g			        	Butter
200 g			        	Plain Flour
1			        	Medium Egg; lightly beaten
300 g			        	Dried Apples; coarsely chopped 
10			        	Red and Green Candied Cherries; chopped
1 tsp			        	Ground Cinnamon
1/2 tsp				Ground Nutmeg
1/4 tsp				Salt	

Method

Sift flour into a mixing bowl. Cut butter into cubes and ad to the flour. Rub them together using your fingertips until they resemble bread crumbs.

Mix the spices and salt with egg. Pour these into the flour mixture and add apples and candied cherries (setting aside some for use as toppings). Knead the dough quickly and thoroughly.

Shape into round biscuits and top each with candied cherry halves.

Bake in a moderately hot oven for about 25 minutes. Cool and store in an airtight container.
